is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the IHI Ionbond Group. He holds a M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Eindhoven, The Netherlands, a Ph.D. from the Materials Research Group of Sheffield Hallam University, UK, and EMBA at The Ohio State University, USA.

Ton works in the vacuum coatings industry since 1990 and started at Hauzer Techno Coating in Venlo, Netherlands. Within the earlier years he was heavily involved in vacuum coating processes and the related hardware developments. Multiple coating machine installs and training across the globe. In 2002 Ton moved to Ionbond job coating and has worked to introduce coating applications to pretty much all industries. For both Hauzer and Ionbond he lived a total of 17 years in the USA. For 10 years he ran 13 job coating centers in North America. Since 2017 CTO for the Ionbond Group and responsible for innovation within the business segments. Ton has published multiple papers, holding vacuum coating related patents, has been a regular invited speaker at conferences, and reviews scientific papers.
