Student/Young Member Discounts

SVC offers special student rates on membership, TechCon registration, and tutorial registration fees to full-time students and young professionals (age 35 and under in the current year).

Student/Young Professional Travel Sponsorship Program

The SVC Student /Young Professional Travel Sponsorship Program is devoted to being a link between students/young members and the more than 1,000 professionals who attend the Annual SVC Technical Conference. The Travel Sponsorship Program provides full travel support and conference registration fees to selected students and young members who are required to make a technical presentation at an SVC TechCon and prepare a manuscript for the Technical Conference Proceedings. Young Members Group

The Young Members Group offers young professionals and students (age 35 and under in the current year) a place to share their ideas as they relate to the future of the Society. The SVC Strategic Planning Committee is interested in implementing their experiences into the long-range plans for the society.

SVC Foundation Scholarship Programs

The Society of Vacuum Coaters Foundation, Inc. (SVC Foundation) supports the charitable, educational, and scientific activities of the Society of Vacuum Coaters. The SVC Foundation Scholarship program provides scholarships to further the education of individuals entering or already engaged in an undergraduate or graduate tutorial of study important to vacuum coating technology. The Foundation seeks donations from corporations and individuals to support its programs.

• Similar to the SVC Student/Young Member Travel Sponsorship Program, the SVC Foundation Student Travel Sponsorship program provides full travel support and conference registration fees to selected students who are required to make a technical presentation at an SVC TechCon and prepare a manuscript for the Technical Conference Proceedings. The application deadline is October 4, 2024,
• The Academic Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students studying a field related to vacuum coating technology. The application deadline is October 18, 2024.
• The Industry Scholarship Program is intended for individuals working in a vacuum coating related industry.  We never stop learning, and there are opportunities to expand our knowledge even after graduation. The application deadline is January 10, 2025.
