2009 SVC TechCon Exhibit Sets Attendance Records

Despite the economic downturn and the H1N1 flu virus, the 2009 TechCon in Santa Clara, CA set records in total attendance and the number of Exhibit Visitors.  This year’s Exhibit was located in the Santa Clara Convention Center, adjacent to the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, and included 177 exhibiting companies in 208 booths.  The Exhibit Hall also provided the backdrop for the Poster Session, Vendor Innovators Showcase and Live Product Demonstrations.  Santa Clara was one of our most successful Exhibit locations, and many of the exhibitors we talked to were pleased that our local marketing efforts attracted Exhibit visitors from the neighboring Silicon Valley businesses.  Out of 1,682 attendees we had 521 register on-site – setting an all-time attendance record.

SVC implemented a significant number of new and innovative marketing procedures to attract attendees to the 2009 TechCon.  Working in partnership with some exhibiting companies, SVC was able to significantly broaden the “reach of SVC” to many new users and potential purchasers of vacuum coating systems and components.  The number of Exhibit Visitors was over 100% greater than in any previous TechCon!  We would like to thank these companies who supported the Society by assisting in our marketing efforts.
