Hotel Reservations

It is necessary for you to register for the TechCon before you can make your hotel reservation. Your contact information will be automatically linked to the hotel reservation system where you are guided through a step-by-step reservation process and receive instant confirmation. Rooms have been reserved for SVC TechCon attendees at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel from April 18–30, 2006. You are strongly encouraged to make your reservations prior to Friday, March 17, 2006. Space is limited — it is cherry blossom time in Washington, DC!
The SVC conference rate is not guaranteed after March 17, 2006. Room rates: Single $199.00; Double $239.00; plus 14.5% DC state tax (the tax rate is subject to change without notice). A limited number of rooms at the prevailing government rate are available. US Government ID will be required at hotel check-in for rooms reserved at the government rate. All on-line room reservations must be guaranteed by a credit card. Telephone reservations will not be accepted. Call SVC at 505/856-7188 if you have problems using the On-line Reservation System.
Cancellations (and modifications) can be made on-line. For cancellations made on or before 60 days prior to the arrival date, there will be no cancellation fee.
Airline Reservations
Ask American Airlines about the Special Directional Zone Fares–
They Do Not Require a Saturday-Night Stay!
The Society of Vacuum Coaters has selected American Airlines as the Official Airline for our upcoming conference in Washington, DC in April 2006. To take advantage of discount savings on your airline ticket, travel American round-trip from anywhere to Washington, DC between April 18 and May 1, 2006. Travel is valid on American Airlines (AA) and American Eagle (AE) into the DC area using either Reagan National, Baltimore Washington, or Washington Dulles airports. American is offering 5% off the lowest published fare — or is offering Zone fares that are discounted off Y fares. For Zone Fares, a seven-day advance purchase and a two night minimum stay are required—Zone fares are based on Origin and Destination. The $10 booking fee by phone can be avoided by booking on-line at www.aa.com. After selecting flights, place the SVC Authorization number in the AA.com discount code box located on the Passenger Detail page. Note: the SVC Headquarters Hotel, the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, is located close to Reagan National airport.
You or your Travel Agent can call and book a special Directional Zone Fare between 5:00 a.m. and midnight every day. Ensure that the American agent documents your passenger record with SVC’s Authorization number A2246AS. There is no requirement for a Saturday-night stay. Check with American Airlines to find the discount fare that best suits your needs! (You will be confirmed at the lowest applicable fare, providing tariff rules are met.)
