What Is a Guaranteed Presentation Backup?
The designation "Guaranteed Presentation Backup" means that if there is a cancellation in the session for which a presentation is designated, the GPB presentation will move into the time slot of the cancelled paper. If there are no cancellations in the session, the Guaranteed Presentation Backup (GPB) will be presented at the end of the session for which it is designated.

Monday and Tuesday Evening

Heuréka! Post-Deadline Recent Developments Session
Expected to be Standing-Room Only Again!
Monday, April 26, 7:15 p.m.–9:15 p.m.
Tuesday, April 27, 5:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m
Moderators: L. Bárdos and H. Baránková, Uppsala University, Sweden

This exciting SVC session enables authors to present their late-breaking results, developments, disclosures, and stimulating achievements, long after the official abstract submittal deadline has passed. It will be run independently of all other TechCon sessions on Monday evening. The criteria for Heuréka! presentations are as follows:

  • 20-minute presentation. Allow about 5 minutes for questions
  • The presentation abstract must be submitted (submit on line at www.svc.org) no later than February 15, 2004, to be included in the Final Program.
  • A manuscript is required for the presentation.

This is not a "catch-all" session for late papers, and the number of presentations will be limited. Last year, this new session allowed for many presentations that would not have been possible otherwise. Once again, Heuréka! will be SVC’s forum for new and exciting "hot-off-the-press" developments. If you have questions about this session, E-mail Ladislav Bárdos at ladislav.bardos@angstrom.uu.se or Hana Baránková at hanabarankova@angstrom.uu.se
