The Young Members Group offers young professionals and students (under the age of 35 in the current year) a place to share their ideas as they relate to the future of the Society. The SVC Strategic Planning Committee is interested in implementing their experiences into the long-range plans for the society.

Young members qualify for a reduced membership of $40 and a significantly discounted TechCon registration fee.

Student Programs

SVC offers special student rates on membership, TechCon registration, and Tutorial registration fees (these vary according to tutorial) to full-time students.

Student Sponsorship Program

The SVC Student Sponsorship Program is devoted to being a link between students and the more than 1,500 professionals who attend the Annual SVC Technical Conference. The Student Sponsorship Program provides full travel support and conference registration fees to selected students who are required to make a technical presentation at an SVC TechCon and prepare a manuscript for the Technical Conference Proceedings. The Society of Vacuum Coaters Foundation, Inc. (SVC Foundation) supports the charitable, educational, and scientific activities of the Society of Vacuum Coaters. The SVC Foundation and Scholarship program provides scholarships to further the education of individuals entering or already engaged in an undergraduate or graduate tutorial of study important to vacuum coating technology. The Foundation seeks donations from corporations and individuals to support its programs.
