Invited Speakers for the 2009 Technical Program

Symposium on Cleantech Energy Conversion, Storage and Related Processes
Cleantech is a category of technologies that reduce humankind’s impact on the environment. The field is of global social and commercial importance. Because of the high cost of fossil-based fuel, limited non-renewable energy sources and the limited capacity of the ecosystem for greenhouse gases and nuclear waste, sustainability is an important target for the future. The lack of availability of clean water and clean air has made living conditions difficult in many parts of the world.  This has created a strong environment for commercial investment in Cleantech.

Based on the urgency of this subject and given a general interest in vacuum and related processes and technologies, this is a key topic for SVC. It addresses the SVC community concerning the specific areas of interest related to photovoltaics, smart materials, large-area deposition, energy storage, air and water purification, energy efficient coatings, and easily recyclable products.
